In Oktober a group of our association travelled to Yirgalem together. Jan Glasmeier, Genet Legesse, Tigest, Haymie and Sophia have been on site. The reason for the trip was the children’s village project. The aim was to inspect the property proposed by the Mayor of Yirgalem for the construction of the children’s village.
Moreover, a meeting with the minister of health of the Sidama zone Mrs. Dr. Selamawit Mengesha took place to talk about the installation of a dyalisis station, the support of the shiptment of the containers as well as cross-country knowledge exchange. We also discussed a potential participation of Jan Glasmeier and his students in the installation of the dyalisis station. For this, a student’s exchange is planned
During his tour through Yirgalem General hospital, Jan Glasmeyer proposed suggestions for improvement regarding the architecture. Together with Mrs. Dr. Hiwot, who works in the health ministry of the Sidama zone, Genet Legesse took a tour and proposed her suggestions for optimizing the room designs. Sophia was also there in the hospital to document everything we agreed on. Haymie, Genet and Mrs. Dr. Hiwot visited a hospital in Awassa together and exchanged ideas.
Mrs. Dr. Mengesha scheduled an appointment at the ministry of health in Addis Abeba This is where Tigest and Haymie received the confirmation that the transport of the three containers from Addis Abeba to Yirgalem General Hospital is secured by the ministry of health. In spite of many appointments, the president of the Sidama zone Desta Ledamo took time for a dinner with us to let us keep him up to date and offer all the support we as an associatio needed for realizing the project.
