Die Comer Industries Marke Walterscheid unterstützt in ihrem Projekt “Hearts of Gold” seit 2006 bereits 78 soziale Einrichtungen in NRW mit einer Gesamtsumme von 862.227,90€. This year, again 13 social facilities were supported with a total of 65.000€ – and we were a part of it! 2.500€ in total the campaign donated to our association Doctors for Ethiopia e.V. which could be received on 14th February in Lohmar.
The donations of the Walterscheid company result from the worker’s waiving of payment of overtime hours, financial donation of the management, and from actions such as a tombola, money from deposit and selling scrap metal. In the future, the campaign “Hearts of Gold” aims at reaching the 1-million-euro-mark.
This year, in particular social facilites stepping up for adults with disabilty, senior citizens, and sick and disadvantaged children were supported. For our long-standing support of the General Hospital in Yirgalem now culminating in the construction of a children’s home, we need every donation and are happy to have been selected again! Other recipients of donation are for example the campaign Lichtblicke of Radio Bonn Rhein-Sieg, the Kinderherzen foundation Bonn or the foundation for children’s and couth hospice Balthasar in Olpe.
